Is Urdu going to survive in modern technological computer and internet time?

The use of any language is dependent on many factors. And its popularity depends upon its use. But sometimes language tends to lose their popularity and ultimately die. Urdu is a popular language in Pakistan and it has a status of national language and this status is helping urdu to survive. In Pakistan if English is an advance and modern language for the urdu speakers similarly urdu is an advance and modern language for the speakers of regional languages. As far as computer technology and internet popularity is concerned urdu have a weak and limited position but professional people use urdu softwares and there are many softwares which are present in urdu. So on professional level where urdu is necessary there are such softwares which can be used. Similarly in government institutions urdu softwares are available and when a document is required, a professional typist can type urdu as fast as he can type urdu. Although it is difficult for common man or student to electronic data file in urdu. But I don’t think that we need much to do it. On the other hand we find many websites in urdu language and online urdu newspaper as well, Google also provide its homepage for Pakistan in urdu.
Beside that paper has its unique importance and we cannot have a paperless or bookless world. There are great writers and poet and their work will remain forever and it will protect urdu and it will save urdu from death. And I think urdu is adapting the latest technology and is also found in traditional forms. So Urdu’s future is not in danger.
